about AI and Everybody

We believe in AI - but only when everybody is included.

We're a 501 (c)(3) center based out of Chicago, Illinois. We're focused on building and supporting a world where AI works to the benefit of all.

Community-Based

Collaborating with an a large Community Advisory Board consisting of individuals and communities that stand to be impacted the most by AI's profileration, our work is dynamic and inclusive.

Evidence-Based

With an emphasis on transparency, we curate and rely on complex quantiative and qualitative data to assess and respond to the many opportunities (and challenges) that AI presents.

Our Leadership

Jerel Ezell, PhD

As a sociologist and professor at the University of Chicago who's focused on social disparities, I spend my days thinking about one big question: who gets left out when new technology takes off? I believe AI should be something that opens doors for kids in under-resourced K–12 schools and people in communities that have been on the wrong side of the digital divide—not just something that supercharges populations that already have every advantage. My job is to build real, practical bridges between communities and the tech world so that every young person has a fair shot at shaping (and thriving in) the future economy.

Executive Director

Sugy Choi, PhD

I'm a professor in public health at New York University. Years spent exploring health outcomes has shown me that AI could be the great equalizer - or the great divider. I connect the dots between healthcare systems, schools, community organizations, funders, and the tech world to make sure our work actually reaches the people who need it most. I’m always looking for creative, mission-aligned collaborators who believe that AI should expand opportunity—not concentrate it. My role is part relationship-builder, part strategist, and part matchmaker.
