Outreach

In addition to our formal trainings, we believe in the value of grassroots education. Our outreach work focuses on building relationships and trust within communities. We spend time listening before we speak, meeting with parents, educators, youth leaders, faith groups, and grassroots organizers to understand how AI is already affecting their lives. Much of our outreach takes place in informal spaces — community centers, school board meetings, neighborhood forums, and local events — where conversations can be candid and grounded. We offer public talks that translate complex AI developments into everyday language, connecting technology to issues like jobs, school funding, public benefits, and local economies.

Our goal is not to “teach a curriculum,” but to spark informed civic dialogue. We help community members understand how AI policies and industry decisions may shape their schools, workplaces, and public services. We also gather feedback and lived experience that informs our research and policy advocacy. In many cases, our talks serve as a bridge between communities and decision-makers, ensuring local voices are part of broader conversations about AI governance.

We regularly collaborate with local leaders to co-host panels and public discussions that surface real concerns and practical questions. When appropriate, we help communities organize around issues related to AI adoption, data privacy, and equitable access. Outreach for us is about presence and partnership, not one-off events. By staying engaged at the community level, we work to ensure that AI policy and implementation reflect the needs of everyday people, not just powerful institutions.
